There are thousands of parts in between this two rubber tyres. For me, riding started on a pair of 13 inches tyres. Currently I am on a pair of 17 inches tyres with a famous machine in the middle. Read on to find out my history of riding. I am always wanted to bring all riders in Singapore to come forward and meet each other and share the passion we all had. After bringing up the scooter section in SingaporeBikes, I am off to a new forum trying to have another go with a new group of riders.

Huh?!?! What bike is this?!?!

This is most frequent reaction i have got when i rode my new scooter out to the street. Ah Peks, taxi uncles, JB workers on cubs and even Pizza delivery rider would ask this question when we have the chance to stop by each other at the lights.

I am riding the concept scooter designed by THE Japanese motorcycle giant. (in case there are people who do not know this giant, its Honda) This design was created by Honda, to actually conceptualize based on the pickups in the automobile world, where they are designed to carry huge loads and cater for rough usage and handling. Honda called the scooter a pickup concept.

I present The Honda PS250 aka Big Ruckus

Is your reaction the same as the most i have met?

When i chanced upon this scooter in the first place, the design intrigues me. It is something different from the everyday conservative, conventional design of scooters. And the functions add a whole new meaning to comfort as well as clever designing in scooters.

But...but, of course, to hold the prestige of being exclusive have its price. I have to source hard, and i mean very hard, to get hold of parts and accessories. Most of them have to be imported from Honda Japan. But the consoling part is that prices from Honda are quite stable and economical as compared to their Italian competitors.

As for performance of this scooter, it is powered by a 250cc 4-stroke water-cooled engine, that is identical to the one in Foresight and Helix. As Helix and Foresight have been in the market for over a decade now...this engine has been proven to be a very reliable engine. However, in the industry of engines, normally a very reliable engine is a boring engine.

The max power churned out by this PS250 is only 19hp...about 2 hp less then Italian 200cc counterparts like my ex scooters, GT and Sportcity. Pickup is nothing to shout about but with aftermarkets like voltage stabs, plates and bearings, the ride should be more exciting.

I will be bringing this new baby of mine to Hatyai this coming weekend...lets see how this scooter performs.
